Meeting in November

The next full meeting of the Church of England Youth Council will be a residential from 24th to 26th November at High Leigh Conference Centre in Hoddesdon, Hertforshire. More information should be available soon.

We're currently looking at topics for the weekend, so if there is anything you would like discussed, please let us know as soon as possible (preferably within the next week).

That information should be in the minutes of the last core group meeting, which unfortunately haven't appeared yet. When I get the chance I'll look through the rough notes I took at the meeting and find the list. (I'd do it now, but the files are on my home computer and I'm posting this from uni. Wireless networking is fun.)

Sorry for the delay, Edward. Here are the probable discussion topics I noted down:

  • Islam (Helen will be reporting back from an event about Islamophobia)
  • Faith schools and the Church's presence in schools

These were proposed, but are less likely:

  • Faithful Cities
  • Homosexuality
  • Women Bishops

Finally, here are the workshops we plan to run:

  • Vocations
  • Depression and the Church's response
  • Creating a Christian presence in school
  • Will my cat go to heaven? and other theological questions
  • Some kind of creative activity

Obviously this is subject to change depending on any responses we get.

Yes, I'm coming to the Taize event (except for me it's *up* not down ;-). Maybe I'll see you there.

You need to send the booking form back to Peter Ball. I presume you're over 18 so you can just email him the necessary details (peter.ball (at) c-of-e.org.uk). Under 18s need to get the form signed and return it by post to Church House (the address at the top of the form).
