Gap Year Opportunity
We are looking for someone to take on our Gap Year programme beginning in September 2010.
The position will provide much needed support for CEYC in clerical and organisational duties throughout the year; liasing with the Chairman and Core Group to plan and arrange meetings, promote the Youth Council in and outside the church, foster communications with Christian associates, and enlarge and maintain council memberships. The candidate will spend most of their time at a chosen church in the Diocese of Chichester, where they will be taking part in the YES Encounter Scheme.

Church of England Youth Council
- Based at the Education Division, Church House, Westminster, London
- Two days a week
- Runs from September to July
- Links to international activities through CEYC such as the EKD in Germany
- Links to the wider church such as General Synod
- Training and support from Church House
- Insight into the workings of the Church of England on a national level
- Supporting a newly emerging body within the Church of England

YES Encounter Scheme
- Based in your chosen church, Chichester diocese
- Four days a week
- Runs September to July
- Links on a diocesan level
- Links internationally with a trip to India or Africa
- Opportunities with wider areas of training within the Church of England e.g. RAF Chaplaincy
- Training and support from the YES Encounter team - Simon Taylor and Diocesan outh Officers
- Training and support from church team
- Opportunities in contributing to diocesan camps and diocesan youth events
The Encounter scheme is about taking younger emerging leaders and giving them an incredible year of experience and training in Christian ministry. The scheme is recognised nationally for its quality of provision and works with a number of agencies and Christian organisations.
